WORKSHOP on 'Accommodating religion in the public space. Looking beyond Europe' - Sofia, Bulgaria, 20 October 2011

On the 20th October 2011, the research group working on 'The Public Space' (WP5) is organizing a Workshop titled 'Accommodating religion and belief in the public space. Looking beyond Europe' in Sofia, Bulgaria.

 

Through this workshop WP5 would like to look beyond the European borders and see what Europe can learn from the experience of other countries regarding the place to be given to religion(s) and belief(s) in the public space.

The Law Faculty of the Catholic University of Leuven organized an International Symposium  on the 13 January 2011 under the umbrella of RELIGARE. This event took place on the occasion of the first year of the project with a view to bring together junior and senior scholars from a range of disciplines and practitioners to exchange experiences and ideas.

The European Commission presents Work Programme 2010

On 31st March 2010, the European Commission presented its work program (CWP) which proposed a multi annual overview of the work which the Commission plans to undertake in the coming years.

RELIGARE Kick-off Meeting

The RELIGARE project is a three-year research project funded by the FP7 Socio-economic Sciences and Humanities Programme of the Directorate-General for Research of the European Commission and coordinated by the University of Leuven (K.U. Leuven). The project started officially on the 1st February 2010, and its purpose is to examine the current realities, including the legal rules and the experiences of religious or other believing communities.
