Together with the RELIGARE member Prof. Jorgen S. Nielsen (CEIT, Copenhagen), Prof. Thijl Sunier (VISOR, VU Amsterdam) and Prof. Maurits Berger (Leiden), the University of Erlangen organised a two-days meeting at Leiden University about research on Islam and Muslims in Europe, taking place on October 17-18, 2011. The group - 24 researchers from 24 universities in 20 European countries - discussed past projects and explored future priorities. Three thematic task groups were formed to develop the next steps in the coming years.
