Adam Seligman

Adam Seligman is professor of Religion and Director of the Religion and Society Program at Boston University. He has lived and taught at universities in the US, in Israel, and in Hungary. He is author of numerous articles and books on the sociology of religion, including Modernity's Wager: Authority, The Self and Transcendence (Princeton University Press, 2000), Modest Claims: Dialogues and Essays on Toleration and Tradition (Notre Dame University Press, 2004) and Ritual and its Consequences: An Essay on the Limits of Sincerity (Oxford University Press, 2008; with R. Weller, M. Puett and B. Simon).
