Tariq Modood, PhD

Professor of Sociology, Politics and Public Policy, University of Bristol. He is the founding Director of the University Research Centre for the Study of Ethnicity and Citizenship. His fields of specialisation are theory and politics of racism, racial equality, multiculturalism and secularism, with special reference to British Asian Muslims. He has written numerous books and articles on these topics. He has been an advisor to the Commission on the future of Multi-Ethnic Britain and to the UK Action Committee on Islamic Affairs and is an adviser to the Muslim Council of Britain. He has also been member of the Institute of Jewish Affairs Commission on Neo-Fascism in Western Europe. Thus he brings to RELIGARE not only scientific expertise, but also experience in acting as an advisor.
