Middle East Technical University’s Department of Sociology is one of the leading sociology departments in Turkey with 22 full time professors and over 200 graduate students. It has a very strong commitment to graduate teaching and research, and a long tradition of empirical research and participation in international collaborative projects. The department has strong links with other European universities through its numerous Erasmus exchange agreements for students and faculty.


The members of the team will be involved in WP2, Theoretical Framework, WP6, State Support and of WP7, Fieldwork. They will contribute data and analysis about the case of Turkey as well as assist in efforts to examine Turkish Muslim diaspora across Europe.
